BX-04 6 foot door DS rebuild box car
The last series of 6 foot door cars rebuilt in 1929 were the 199147-199346 series. These cars were similar to all other rebuilt DS cars with steel centersill and Murphy steel roof. Ends on this series were reverse dreadnaught ends (similar to the "mini box" cars) and Youngston steel doors; althought, some cars had wood doors too.
The 199000 series had a surprisingly long life with the last revenue cars delisted in 1961. Many were reassigned to non-revenue service in the 400000 series and operated for many years.This kit includes one piece body, underframe, details, metal ladders, steps and decals. You provide wire, trucks and couplers.
